So when I got there, the lady recognise my name from over the phone, the night before. It was such a friendly welcoming. I had to fill out this enrollment form because it's my first time. While I was filling it out another girl came out and it so happened to be her first time too! Afterwards they have to interview you to make sure you are eligible. So they weigh you (minimum 50kg and I was 53 :) and they take a little blood sample to test iron levels. They do this by 'pricking your finger' with this stamp thing. I was quite scared, always anticipating pain but that's normal right? I'm not scared of needles but the confrontation with that one second of pain is scary. During the interview I misheard a question;
...
Have you had any operations?
Me: no
Are you Jew friendly?
Me: Wait... WHAT WHY?
I asked are "Are you Due for any?"
Ohhhhhhh...no

So after interview its time for the bloodsucking part. I was a little bit shaky just watching her set up. Seriously, My right leg kept shaking.
Ever had a blood test before?
Yes
Well it's just like that, Only the Needle is bigger and longer!
Yes

Yeah, That DIDN"T HELP!
Ok so Eventually that thrust the stick in your arm. You couldn't really feel the blood being drained. They asked me to keep wiggling my finger every now and then. It got harder and harder and felt like I was losing control over my fingers. So pretty much for the next 10 minutes I just sat there watching television while my blood is being drained. Over time my right arm felt loose since I had to leave it relaxed while at the same time wiggling my fingers and blood being drained from it :L. Eventually they got about 300ml and bandaged my arm. I was told to rest for another 10 minutes and advised "Not heave lifting, No exercise, No operating heavy machinery etc". They were really nice people, just not the "small talk" nice. Afterwards they gave me 2 small sausage roll and a free milkshake, during which I booked my next session -7th October.
